"Intra-Oral Preparation of Titanium Abutments In Order To Obtain Ideal Angulations and Contours"

Dr. Robert Vogel

The following nine slides illustrate the use of the SS White Great White #2S (short shank) bur for the preparation of laboratory analogs prior to the fabrication of the substructure, but more importantly, their use intra-orally for preparation of titanium abutments in order to obtain ideal angulations and contours. The GW #2S is the ideal choice for implant procedures since it does not grab or break. The short shank is also ideal to reduce potential chatter when cutting these tougher metals.
